Touriseum or Museum of Tourism | Castle and Garden

The "Touriseum" or Museum of Tourism is housed in Trauttmansdorff Castle in the new Botanical Gardens on the eastern outskirts of Meran. Empress Elisabeth of Austria spent seven months here in 1870 and enjoyed her stay so much that she thought of buying the castle. The visit of the Empress was the highlight of the castle's eventful history, which dates back to the Middle Ages.
