The Alps in 3D
In
the beginning each photo is torture for the mountain climber - the equipment
weighs more than one person can carry. But around 1890 stereoscopic photography
also becomes fashionable among mountain climbers. Pairs of pictures viewed
through a stereoscope give a fascinating sense of space.
