The Brenner line
Two
large bends in order to gain height, ten bridges, twenty tunnels: the railway
line over the Brenner, opened in 1867, is a technical wonder. Empress Elisabeth
herself is impressed by her first journey over the route. For the reception
of such illustrious guests the station master dons a special gala uniform.
