Alpine Refuges
It
is noticeable how many alpine huts in Tyrol are built by those sections
of the Societies which are furthest away. The section of eastgerman town
Halle an der Saale builds its Alpine home at 3175 meters in the Ortler
range. Towards the end of the First World War the hut is destroyed in the
battles on the Ortler Front.
