«Traffic is a sign of life»
In
1971 the motorway from Innsbruck to Brenner is completed. The section between
Brenner and Verona follows three years later. The number of cars travelling
over the pass soon reaches a figure of 2 million a year. But cars bumper
to bumper are still seen as a sign of progress.
