Matthias Schönweger

Matthias Schönweger

Freelance writer, performer, collector, and amusing contemporary: Matthias Schönweger from Meran is an artist (of life) to whom many descriptions indeed apply. He works a great deal with language and uses practically everything to communicate his ideas. In 2009, together with Kunst Meran, he opened the world's first ever "Museum of Hearts". Located in a Second World War bunker in Saltaus, high up in the Passeier Valley, here everything revolves around the theme of the heart. For 2012 he has redecorated the toilets at the Touriseum using hundreds of picture postcards.

AS IF IT WAS A PART OF ME

Postcard idyll in the smallest room

The postcard is dead: long live the picture postcard!

It is our tried and trusted, beloved way to advertise ourselves! Still a vehicle

for all kinds of articles of a spiritual and material nature,

for visions, panoramas, cultural and other events,

for installations such as those by Matthias Schönweger

in the conveniences of the Touriseum.

P.S.: I need to go (to South Tyrol)
